Output Jacks

We like to think of the output jack as the “key” to the engine in your guitar (except for the skilled guitarist of course!) Once a string is plucked, the signal generated by the pickups passes through the circuit (volume and tone controls, capacitors etc...) and out to the jack where it travels to the amp.

Almost all electric guitars use a 1⁄4’’ mono jack socket as their output connector. The contacts on a high quality jack will last a lot longer ensuring a clear and crisp signal. Switchcraft are the industry standard for such products and actually started out in business producing jacks for the booming telephone industry before a certain Leo Fender approached them to use their jacks in his guitars.
